Claude turns our meal plan into recipes, fills a supermarket basket and books a delivery slot. We still check the basket and pay ourselves.

An old tablet by our front door that shows when to leave for the Tube, and only mentions other lines when they have problems.

I design, research and build

  1. Pick the right problem

    I spend time understanding what's going on before designing anything. I'll also remove a feature that tests badly, as I did with AI search on Asian Wedding Society.

  2. Talk to customers every week

    At Otta, our product manager and I interviewed five or six candidates every week. I still combine interviews, session recordings and transcripts with the numbers.

  3. Build what I design

    I design in Figma and build in code. The side projects on this site are products I designed, built and run myself.

  4. Use AI to run several things at once

    I write a spec first, then use Claude agents to do much of the building. That's how I run an AI-powered venue finder and a tested tax engine alongside a full-time job.

  5. Tools I've built for my teams

    Compliance copy reviewer

    A Claude skill that reviews car-finance copy against the regulator's rules and past compliance rulings, with evals that measure how often it's right.

    Design standup bot

    A Slack bot that rotates who runs design standup, skips people on leave and gives them priority next time.
